Coldplay concert review

Yesterday the time has come, Coldplay gave their concert in Hannover. In we - Carmen and I - are lucky owners of two cards which were given us as a present to our 20th wedding anniversary. The travel - Hannover is about 180km from home - has been almost problem free, the hell started as we reached Hannover. Here we needed 2 hours for the last 10km. The city absolutely underestimated the number of visitors from outside. And so also there has been not enough parking room. Thankfully while searching we found a place only 300m away from the stadium. We later discovered that it has been closed. But like all others we got no ticket. *phew* But the whole situation still reflects badly on our capital of Niedersachsen. *sigh*

Due to the delay we missed the supporting acts but we've been in the stadium in time. Additionally, while driving the last meters, it rained from time to time. But when reaching the stadium it has been dry. And it has been really warm, best conditions for a great evening. So at 9pm Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, and Guy Berryman entered the stage, started with Life in Technicolor, and 37.000 visitors started to swing, clap, and scream. A great moment. Songs like Violent Hill and Clocks followed before our personal highlight started after about 40 minutes: Fix you! Sure, the German audience isn't so good in singing like the British one on LeftRightLeftRightLeft, but the song, the voice, the stage, the light show, all together brought tears in my eyes. Absolutely great.

The highlight song for most of the audience has been Viva la Vida. And it has been a real great feeling when we all sang the chorus over and over again, even later, after the song has been over. Another impressive moment has been the movement of the group to a second little stage between all the people. Here they sang three acoustic songs, the last one has been Billy Jean, a reminiscence to Michael Jackson. A great moment, with many small lights and goosepimples. *smile* Wonderful parts of the show have been the 50m large stage with lights, lasers, and fireworks, the masses of great yellow baloons at the song Yellow, and the flourescent butterfly confetti blown into the audience during Lovers in Japan.

Alltogether Coldplay played 23 songs, everyone should stay until the last songs of the encore, and take the little surprise of those four great musicians. With this concert behind us it didn't bother that we again needed more than one hour to just leave Hannover.

Remark: The pics are from NDR2, I forgot my camera.

Illuminati

Yesterday we've once again visited one of our favorite destinations for a day trip, the "Park der Gärten" in Bad Zwischenahn. It's a real great and wonderful park with many theme gardens. And right now it's the illumination show where the park is equipped with many light installations and opened until midnight. Here are some of my yesterdays pics:

I hope you enjoy them. Additionally we had a picnic, like many other visitors, with cheese, salame, meatballs, crackers, and white vine. Life can be wonderful.

Pyro Games 2009 Bremen Review (w/ pictures)

Yesterday Carmen and I visited the Pyro Games 2009 in Bremen, an event where four teams fight against each other showing the best fireworks. Additionally there has been a lot of catering around, bands playing live on stage, and a little laser show in the pause. The location at the Waterfront is really cool, directly aside the Weser river. Sadly, after all those sunny days, we had some raining after the first team (Germany). But it still has been a great show, take a look at the pics.

We don't know which team won because we drove home before all ballots has been counted. Our ranking:

1. Australia
2. England
3. Germany
4. Poland

A great evening.

A groovy kind of aquarium

The bowl is open from the bottom side so that the fish can enter and enjoy the sun.
