It's done. I've tested the blogger features, the migration of existing content and the redirection of an existing domain to address this blog. Everything works fine. Maybe there are better solutions, especially when using and customizing the software on an own server. But currenlty this hasn't such a high priority to spend more time. I think this will change in future, especially having the Tideland Train of Thoughts in mind. But until this software works I'll stay here.

First test blogging at Google
My current blog software seems to be unmaintained, what's really disappointing. So I'm trying to blog using my Google account. It allows to continue using the own domain, that's a very useful feature. But before migrate all my content into this system I'll test a bit more.

Featured book: The Art of Program Management
I've just read the book The Art of Project Management by Scott Berkun, a former Microsoft project manager and now working as a consultant and author. It is full of plain experience, covers all the important areas if you're responsible for software projects, and doesn't slays you with information overload and too much formalism. A must read for software project managers.
Other interesting places to look are his site and his blog.

Featured blog: Presentation Zen
Today many presentations are produced. Very often PowerPoint is used for presented slides, sometimes Keynote or other tools. But it is very common that by far too much presentations are held without the adequate dramaturgy, the slides are overloaded, doesn't care about human recognition behaviour and use by far too much visual effects instead of real content. Garr Reynold is interested in professional presentation and provides a very fine blog about it: Presentation Zen. For me it is one of the best blogs in the net.

Switched blog software
tDiary is really a nice peace of software, but the documentation is really poor. Due to some problems I've had with it I decided to switch to Simple PHP Blog. Until now I'm very satisfied with it. I really like it if software tries to by as low complex as possible. So this software is installable by unpacking with a very simple initial configuration. And it also doesn't need a database behind it. All data is stored in text files.

OK, the new blog is installed
I've decided to use tDiary as it is a lightweight system, easy to install in Debian, with no database backend and using ruby. This all sounds really good. Now I'll try a bit how to use it and how to make it fit a bit more into the Tideland look and feel and then I'll start to tell you more about my ideas and opinions around software development.
