Peter Hruschka compared architecture to decathlon in his track today. The disciplines are design, decide, simplify, evaluate, verify, document, implement, communicate, balance, and consult. In his opinion it is not enough to hold the world record in one discipline, even beeing very good in several disciplines isn't enough. To be top you have to be real good in every discipline. I like this comparison.
